Welcome. I’m a postdoctoral scholar at the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis. My research focuses on the policy and politics of transportation and planning, and the decision-making processes that govern how we get around.
My topical areas of study include highways, parking, and sustainable communities. My recent dissertation investigated the policy and politics of highway expansion.
Other current and recent work includes study of induced travel and its inclusion in environmental review, quantification of project-level vehicle miles travel (VMT), and the implications of the policy shift from automobile level-of-service to VMT.
I was previously a postdoctoral scholar at the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies, and received my PhD in Transportation Technology & Policy at the University of California, Davis. Prior to academia I was a research analyst at the Sacramento Area Council of Governments.
